    Increasing utilization of ART

    In India, the Population Council identified factors that influence uptake of antiretroviral treatment services among newly diagnosed HIV-positive people. (more)

    Building research capacity

    The Council is providing young researchers in the Middle East with mentoring and peer review so that they may pursue high-quality research in the area of gender and work. (more)

    Improving delivery of family planning

    FALAH, the Council’s largest program on reproductive health, aims to increase the use of family planning and birth spacing in Pakistan by removing barriers to services and improving knowledge. (more)

Current News

Pakistan has been devastated by the worst flooding the country has seen in 80 years. Population Council staff members already are working in the worst-hit regions and were able to conduct an analysis of needs and deliver limited relief items. (video)

Venture capitalist Howard Cox was recently elected to the Population Council's board of trustees. (more)

Stan Mierzwa, director of Information Technology at the Population Council, has been awarded InsideNGO’s first-ever Information Technology (IT) Award for his outstanding contribution to the development of audio computer-assisted self-interviewing software. (more)

Population Council president Peter Donaldson recently honored Mexico City’s Ministry of Health, its mayor, and its minister of health for the government of Mexico City's commitment to improving the reproductive health of Mexican women. The presentation ceremony took place at the Council’s international headquarters in New York City. (more)
